The following are some comments about the companies and individuals i used to help build my '57 BelAir.
I have been working on old cars and trucks ever sinice I was old enough to realize how much i loved old cars and trucks. I knew this project would be my final and i wanted to make sure i got it right. For the mechanical area i went to Lonnie McSwane. He has been building cars and hot rods most of his life and I trusted him to help in areas where i had little experience.

Paont and bodt work is the first thing you notice about any car project. I contact several shops around the the area and the prices were out of my budget or the time frame was so long to completion that I just couldn't wait. Finally I found Pro Delux Collission Center. It is a newer shop and I really like the owner. He offered a price I could live with and mainly his ability to start right away made th deal easy for me. I cannot say enough about the quality or his ability to meet my expcetations.

The metal trim on the 57 BelAir really makes or breaks the project. At first i tought I could polish most of the trim but i soon found out it isn't as easy as you might think. I began to look around for someone to polish the trim and found that the cost, again, exceeded my budget. Then I found a guy on Ebay, Steve Landon. His work looked great and the cost was reasonable. Above that he worked with me on actually using some of my trim. He met every expectation in quality and delevery time frame.

I was amazed at just how many of the parts could be bought for the 57 BelAir. But then i did find one that waas no where to be found. It was the chrome hood bar. Finally i decide to just have it rechromed. I checked around and found no one willing to recomend any local plating shops. Finally i went to Moralez Plating and there they told me that they could do the job, I asked about their warranty and was told that the only problems they ever had was due to bad chemicals and if the plating began to flake or peel off they would rechrome for me. I felt that was about as good as i could find anywhere. They did a great job.
